I know baseball is just a game, and no one should take it too seriously, but this just brought down baseball-reference.com in my eyes just a bit. They’re supposed to be the ne plus ultra when it comes to chronicling the game, so for them to include this, holiday or not.

There are just some things you shouldn’t mess with.

Teams looking for a shortstop this offseason can look north, as in North Pole, where Rudolph the Red-Nosed Shortstop is available. The promotion cooked up by John Hartwell has gone viral thanks to an assist from Sean Forman of baseball-reference.com.
