The Bookshelf Podcast: David Ferry/Greg Prince

December 9, 2012

I haven’t done one of these in awhile. Part of it has been working on my own book (I’m almost done with the indexing), part of it was being without the computer (kind of surprised it’s lasted this long).

So as a way to compensate, this episode is something of a Mets doubleheader. We have two authors who recently published what will surely become an essential part of any respectable library on New York’s National League franchise.

David Ferry published Total Mets: The Definitive Encyclopedia of the New York Mets’ First Half-Century in October, while Greg Prince, co-host of the excellent blog Faith and Fear in Flushing, just released he first volume in his four book opus, The Happiest Recap: 50 Years of the New York Mets As Told in 500 Amazin’ Wins; Volume One consists of the years 1962-73.

Prince will be hosting a combination book launch/birthday bash at Foleys in Manhattan this Saturday from Noon to 2 p.m. Maybe I’ll see you there.
