Short notice, but from Ballpark Digest: “If you’re planning a visit to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown this week, we’d recommend scheduling your visit for Thursday, June 18, when our Eric Vickrey kicks off the annual Hall of Fame Author Series to discuss Before They Wore Dodger Blue: Tommy Lasorda and the Greatest Draft Class in Baseball History.”
A series of videos:

- Ed Wheatley discusses his new book on Fox2Now (St. Louis).
- Dave Winfield discusses his upcoming book on Fox 9 News (Minneapolis).

I missed the opportunity to attend a Cape Cod League game last time I was in the area since the season hadn’t started yet. I probably would have enjoyed Cape Cod Baseball League: From College Stars to Big League Futures, published by SABR, as a introduction (although the book would not have been released at that point but why quibble over minor details?). According to an article on the Cape Cod Chronicle website, “The book is a compilation of essays covering the various aspects of the league, and that scope goes well beyond solely serving as a chronology of the games and players, which date back to 1865.”
This might be a bit off-topic, but I’m guessing a lot of you have picked up or at least looked for baseball items at garage sales. Here’s a piece from The Atlantic on “The Whimsy and Heartbreak of America’s Garage Sales.”
