I don’t usually advertise “the competition,” but in this time of crisis we all have to pull together. And since I usually don’t talk much about baseball fiction I figured, “why not let them do the work for me?”
So submitted for your interest and enjoyment, here’s an episode of Effectively Wild, the podcast component of the Fangraphs site titled “The Fictional Game Goes On.”

I have both books and will get to them anon (Brockmire, although a bit too profane from time to time, is one of the better baseball TV shows of all time, IMO). One other novel discussed on the program is Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes, the host of Pop Culture Happy Hour, one of my favorite podcasts. Having read the blurb on the book’s Amazon page, with all due respect, I think I’ll pass. Seems like this type of story has been told before.
