Mother of God; is this the end of…

my baseball cap collection? (Sorry, Little Caesar fans; and if you think I’m talking about the pizza franchise, shame on you, you Philistine).

https://i1.wp.com/www.toptenz.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/sandiegopadres.jpg?resize=157%2C183I have a very modest collection of baseball caps — perhaps 25 or so — from major and minor league teams. One of the reasons it’s so small is my rule: I can’t acquire it online. That is, I either have to be in the city that hosts the team or the person who makes a gift of a cap has to purchase it with the same limits.

This weekend I’m going to California for the San Diego Jewish Book Fair to speak about my non-baseball title. Since the Padres have traditionally had some bad uniforms (all due respect, San Diego. Stay classy.), this might be the time to break the streak (after all, I have been trying to declutter) . And nowadays, with so many options, I wouldn’t know which one to get anyway.
