John Sexton’s Baseball as a Road to God: Seeing Beyond the Game
picked up a couple of review recently including this one from the New York Law Journal and this one from Philly.com.
The San Diego Union Tribune ran this about Inside the Baseball Hall of Fame
. Believe it or not (and I’m guessing my wife will be relieved), I will probably not be getting a copy of this one: there have been numerous volumes about the items in the Hall. In fact, during my recent trip to Cooperstown for the Baseball Symposium held in the HoF, I didn’t even go through the museum, other than passing through the hall of plaques to get to sessions. The exhibits don’t change that much and I just didn’t feel like spending the time. Don’t hate me.
Jewish Baseball News ran this review of Larry Rutman’s American Jews and America’s Game: Voices of a Growing Legacy in Baseball
.
Boston.com ran this set of “capsule reviews” from Bill Littlefield, host of NPR’s sports weekly, Only a Game.
Blast from the past: MLB history John Thorn published this review of Christy Matthewson’s Pitching in a Pinch — originally published in 1912 — in The Wall Street Journal in April. The book is available as a free download from Gutenberg.org.
