https://i0.wp.com/media.npr.org/images/podcasts/thumbnail/icon_510052.jpg?resize=210%2C210Only a Game featured Filip Bondy on it’s most recent show on which he discussed his new book, Who’s on Worst?: The Lousiest Players, Biggest Cheaters, Saddest Goats and Other Antiheroes in Baseball History. You can listen to the segment here.

It was on that show I discovered OAG host Bill Littlefield had interviewed W.P. Kinsella on the previous program to talk about his most recent effort, Butterfly Winter. You can listen to that one here. (James Bailey offers his opinion on Winter here.)

Rob Neyer gives NPR sports commentator Frank Deford a backhanded compliment here.

By the way, I had occasion to watch the 25th anniversary of Field of Dreams earleir in the week. Didn’t watch the actual movie, since I’ve seen it many times; this one was about the extras, including an episode of Bravo’s Page to Screen, a fascinating documentary series, on taking Kinsella’s original novel, Shoeless Joe, and turning it into FOD. I’ll be posting much more on that shortly.
