Hey , kids, do you know what day it is

December 27, 2011

Being the cheap bastard that I am, I wait until after Christmas to buy my calendars. The local book chain has them down 50 percent. If I didn’t care about what I get, I could wait another few weeks when they’ll be $1 each. But they had the one I wanted so I’m happy.

I’m also happy because today’s mail brought me I a personalized baseball calendar I “created” from the artwork of Margie Lawrence. I lucked out to get in on a nice deal: For $10, I got to chose 12 pieces from her collection which she then put together in a comb-bound product I’ll be proud to hang on my bookshelf.

Lawrence is taking a little break right now, but she told me she’ll be back soon to offer April 2012-April 2013 calendars (opening day to OD) for $15. Browse through her work and send her your requests.

Tell Lawrence you read about it on the Bookshelf. It would get you a discount or me any kickback; I just always wanted to say that.
