Literary birthday greetings: One is”Psycho” (and one is questionable)

June 3, 2011

Steve “Psycho” Lyons turns 51 today (so does Barry Lyons, who is no relation as far as I know). Lyons — a “colorful character” (or “flake.” depending on your point of view) batted .252 over nine season for the Red Sox, White Sox, Braves, and Expos. Perhaps his most famous moment on the field was this:

Way to go, Steve.

Lyons published two books of basically humrous anecdtoes: Steve Lyons: Psychoanalysis and The Psycho 100: Baseball’s Most Outrageous Moments, on which I will comment in a future entry.

Also celebrating a birthday, Carl Everett, who turns 40. In this case, it’s not a book written by him as much as a topic he might want to read up on.
