What if more of life was like fantasy baseball?

April 9, 2011

A recent episode of Jeopardy featured these questions under the category “Presidential Fantasy Draft”:

  • Like his dad, he made the Big Leagues and his 1749 appointment to the Netherlands pads his INTL stats.
  • In saying there was no “right of secession” but not backing it up, his PTCWOL (Push the Civil War on Lincoln) is huge.
  • His R.E.M. (Re-election Metric) is killer; he won 49 states — on Minnesota said no — and his I.G. (Invaded Grenada) stats are big, too.
  • His R.E.M. (Re-election Metric) is killer; he won 49 states — on Massachusetts said no — but his T.C. (term completion) worries me.
  • His O-LZT (Out-Living Zachary Taylor) looms large but I worry about his short presidential career of only 32 months.
Answers: John Quincy Adams; James Buchanan; Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon; Millard Fillmore
