Author announcement: Bill White at Yogi Berra Museum

March 31, 2011

The former Major Leaguer, broadcaster, and National league president will be at the Yogi Berra Museum in Little Falls, NJ, tomorrow at 7 p.m. to discuss his new book Uppity: My Untold Story About The Games People Play.

A former All-Star first baseman with the New York Giants, St.Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies, White became baseball’s first African-American play-by-play announcer as voice of Yankee baseball for 18 seasons. He left the broadcast booth to become the president of the National League for five years.

To RSVP for discussion and book, call 973-655-2378.

Look for a Bookshelf review on Uppity in the next few days.

I’ll be there, too, so if you can recognize me in my post-Roth caricature state, be sure to say hi.
