Easter basket? No, baseball basket

March 7, 2011

Want to help out a good cause with the potential to score some baseball book swag?

Writers for the Red Cross holds a weekly on-line auction. This week the prize is provided by Joseph Wallace, author of Diamond Ruby: A Novel and several other non-fiction coffee table titles about the national pastime.

According to Wallace, “The centerpiece of the basket are copies of Diamond Ruby and my book Baseball: 365 Days, one of those bricklike books Abrams puts out, this one with color images from MLB’s collection. I’ve also included a Diamond Ruby baseball card and cap (people love the caps); a baseball card game; a baseball puzzle; Hall of Famer baseball cards; ‘and more.’ (Which means I haven’t figured that out yet.) I guess it all adds up to about $100 in value, not including the huge value of my signature. ;-)”

As of this writing there’s just one bid for $50. So visit here, enter a bid, help others while helping yourself to some quality baseball merch. This event closes March 13.
