Lest we forget: Bob Sheppard

The Voice of God, akak the long-time public address announcer for the New York Yankees and football Giants, passed away today at the age of 99.

As he has done with so many other sports figures, Richard Goldstein wrote the obituary for The New York Times.

As far as I know, there haven’t been any books about the profession. I’m hoping someone will write an appropriate appreciation of Sheppard before too long.
