On Saturday July 3 from 12 – 4:00 p.m., come celebrate America’s favorite pastime and the art of Norman Rockwell. Meet Linda Ruth Tosetti, Babe Ruth’s granddaughter; learn about the Major Leagues from Brian Daubach, former Red Sox first baseman; explore the art of baseball with illustrator Graig Kreindler; take a lively look at the history of the sport with Anna Wade, director of education at the National Baseball Hall of Fame; toss the ball with the Pittsfield Colonials (bring your mitt!); create a baseball-inspired work of art with 3-D artist Charles Fazzino and fuel up with an all-American grill on the Museum’s terrace. Program free with Museum admission.
For more information, visit the Museum’s website.
I visited the NRM many years ago. It was there I learned, via a docent, that umpires always wear black underpants, just in case they split their trousers during a game. (Now that’s why you read the Bookshelf!)
