The NFL Draft takes center stage. Don’t know about you, but I’m tired of other sports — most notably football — turning into a year-round, attention-hogging entity. Not to get too philosophical, but there’s something to be said about absence making the heart grow fonder. Without darkness, there’s no light. Without sour, you don’t appreciate sweet. So maybe it’s in the best interests of football to go away for awhile so their fans will miss it and love them all the more when they come back.
Anyway, now that I’ve vented, the baseball items this week include:
- The Dominican Republic goes New School
- Whither Jermaine Dye?
- Forget about Strasburg, what about that Leake? Plus a sidebar on how other starting pitchers fared without the benefit of minor league experience.
