Analysis: Posnanski’s new book might have regenerated interest in his previous title, an excellent bio of the Negro League “legend,” made famous by Ken Burns’ 1995 documentary. The topic of his new book, the Reds, and the timing (getting close to the post-season) might also account for Frosts new title, which is rated highly even though it isn’t available yet. Another new title is Wheeler’s insider look at the Phillies, perhaps hanging on the coattails of the sad news about Ernie Harwell.
