Was he or wasn’t he?

July 31, 2014

Kids, ask your parents.

Because you can put all these news reports on your bookshelf.

Either David price was traded to the Detroit Tigers or he wasn’t. Yahoo Sports reports that he wasn’t, that it was hoax that fooled even the MLB Network.

The “time stamp” on the “retraction” attributed to ken Rosenthal MLB piece was 11:50. But this one published on ESPN is timed at 3:59 and attributed to Jayson Stark. And this on MLB.com. And this from the Detroit Free Press. And this from TampaBay.com. And this from USA Today.

So who’s right? Were they all duped? If so, this may be the biggest media misdirection since Orson Welles told radio listeners Martians had invaded New Jersey.
