Because you can put seaon tickets on your bookshelf…or a subpoena

Not content with destroying their previous franchise — my beloved Montreal Expos — the current management of the Miami Marlins are intent on ruining — for the second time — another team as well as crushing the souls of whatever fan base they’ve managed to muster.

Now they have the nerve to sue a pair of season ticket holders who, exercising the option to request different seats at the white elephant of the Marlins’ new ballpark, refused to pay their $25K when that request was denied. (I love the letter the Marlins sent.)

I guess the owners aren’t content pocketing their share of the luxury taxes that are supposed to go to improving the team; they need this $25 thou, too.

Of course, I haven’t studied the particulars; the Marlins might actually have a case. But at the risk of the financial and emotional annoyance this might cause to the ticket-holders, I would love to see this on Court TV.

“Hey, Marlins legal team, get out of here with that bull****!”
