It’s two, two, two Bookshelf items in one

June 14, 2012

Baseball artist Graig Kreindler alerted his Facebook friends of a new item produced by the US Postal service:

From the USPS website:

Play Ball! is the perfect keepsake for both baseball fans and stamp enthusiasts. The 8½” x 11”, 40-page book is filled with the vivid paintings of artist Graig Kreindler, whose extraordinarily detailed work captures our national pastime’s biggest icons in action. The issuances included in this product are: The 2001 Legendary Playing Fields (10), the 2010 Negro Leagues Baseball (2), and the 2012 Major League Baseball All-Stars (4) stamps.

The book is $24.95 and will be available July 18, but you can pre-order here.

By the way, the headline for this entry refers to a famous line from an old commercial:

(Did the announcer say “Retsyn” or “Ricin”? It makes a big difference.)
