How great must it be for John Thorn these days. Not only is his new book, Baseball in the Garden of Eden: The Secret History of the Early Game
Here are just a few of the items that have hit in recent days:
- Thorn was a guest in a March 16 segment on NPR’s Fresh Air. The link takes you to an overview of the story with additional links to the audio, the transcript, and an excerpt of the book. He was also a guest on the March 7 episode of What’s on Second, where I was able to ask him a few questions.
- This piece, adapted from the book, appeared in the March 12 edition of The New York Times. You can bet your bottom dollar that Garden of Eden will get the full review treatment in an upcoming edition of the Sunday Book supplement.
- This item appeared on Bleacher Report yesterday, the first of a three part series (part 2 here; part three to come.)
- An on-line chat with Thorn, conducted on ESPN’s SportsNation.
- An MLB press release about Thorn’s first official project: chairing a committee on the origins of baseball.
