Please accept my apology. You did include a supplement about City Field, in today’s issue . (You might have given a person a clue, though: “Next week: Citi Field.”) It’s not on the website (yet?), as is the Yankees new home. Petty much follows the same content as last week’s item, but nice to have.

Every paper can be expected to highlight it’s local team in its opening day preview; it’s the extras that make or break. The News‘ — only online — culled several of its columnists to put together a “five point plan” for saving baseball. Basically, they want to depose the leaders and start from scratch as well as get really tough on the drug situation. Just a thought, but how about earning some good will among the fans where it counts: in their wallets. Stop charging a single beer the same price as a six-pack at the local supermarket (or a water the same as a case when it’s on sale). The News published a quote from Hal Steinbrenner: “Look, there’s no doubt small amounts of our tickets might be overpriced.” Top price for a seat? $2,625.
