* Asinof, one more time

June 17, 2008

I heard Tony Kornheiser read this obituary from The Washington Post on the podcast of his eponymous radio program. Kornheiser has long been a favorite of mine, from the time he actually wrote for the paper. He had long since ceased writing on a regular basis, but retained a relationship with the Post, as well as serving as host for ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption. Funny and caustic, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’ve always appreciated it when he turns sentimental, talking about his kids or his late father or relgion or other serious topics. So when he interrupted his usual shtick to read this tribute, my ears pricked up. You’ll forgive me if I’ve somehow repeated this particular story, but the additonal commentary tosses a new light on it.
