The residual effect of the Mitchell Report

December 19, 2007

As reported here, the release of the Mitchell Report has meant a renewed interest in Game of Shadows. But according to Keith J. Kelly, Media Ink columnist for the New York Post, “While the baseball steroid scandal is playing out across the front pages of newspapers, it so far hasn’t translated into much of a book bonanza.”
Even before the MR, Jose Canseco was trying to peddle his new project, tentatively titled Vindicated. But so far writes Kelly, he hasn’t found a publisher. Likewise, “None of the clubhouse steroid suppliers who became major sources for Mitchell and are keen to tell their sides of the story are finding much interest from publishers, either.”
I bet it’s only a matter of time; All you need is one publisher to make the first move and the floodgates will open.
