That’s un-American!

Last week’s New York Times book review featured the top titles in several categories, including sports.

You’d think there might be one baseball book in the mix. But you’d be wrong.

Marc Tracy, who writes about college sports for the the Times, handled the assignment. His essay includes two books on high school and college football, two on college basketball, one on pro soccer, and one about Muhammad Ali.

To be honest, I have not read (nor heard of) a single one of these. Not to say they’re not great. I have great respect for Tracy, the co-editor of Jewish Jocks: An Unorthodox Hall of Fame.

Nevertheless, I take great exception to the exclusion of a single work about the national pastime. So my question to Mr. Tracy is
