Author appearance: Erik Sherman

March 31, 2016

http://images.randomhouse.com/author/241329Erik Sherman, author of Kings of Queens: Life Beyond Baseball with ’86 Mets, will be the featured guest at the Bergino Baseball Clubhouse in Manhattan on Tuesday, April 5, at 7 p.m.

Just had a flashback: When I was a very wee lad, my dad used to drive a delivery truck and would take me along once in awhile. One of his stops was an establishment called Kings of Queens. I don’t know what they sold, but I have memories of always getting chocolate milk and a snack cake, so maybe it was a dairy? (Is my life flashing before my eyes?)

Anyway, Sherman…

He has worked on several baseball titles, primarily as the coauthor of memoirs of playerw who were memorable for one reason or another:

I wish I could be there, but that’s my late night at the office. I would ask him to talk about what it was like working with the different athletes, whether the process was the same for all three or differed. If one of you kind readers out there will be going, please act as my mouthpiece.

RSVP required. According to the event notice, “Autographed and personalized copies of Kings of Queens will be available for purchase. The author will sign only books purchased in the Clubhouse.” Consider yourself sufficiently warned.
