Haven’t been posting much lately but I have a good excuse.
No, really, I have a better reason.
Just contracted to do a book focusing on Hank Greenberg‘s 1938 season in which he put up a valiant fight to break Babe Ruth‘s single-season home run record of 60. The as-yet untitled project will also take a look at what else was going on in the United States and the world on the eve of a perilous time.
A funny juxtaposition: my first book — 501 Baseball Books Fans Must Read before They Die (2013) — was about, well baseball. The second — The Jewish Olympics: The History of the Maccabiah Games (21015) — focused on Jews and sports. This one combines the two topics.
Skyhorse, which also published The Jewish Olympics, will also handle this one.
