My mind may be playing tricks on me, because I can’t find it, but I seem to recall a Sports Illustrated piece in which Gwynn sat down with Ted Williams, another San Diego “product,” to discuss hitting. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Maybe it was another publication such as SPORT or Inside Sports.
