A propos to yesterday’s entry about the Hollander “Complete Guide to…,” I ventured into the attic to take these pictures last night.

This “series” — mostly edited by Don Schiffer and, later, Jack Zanger — predates the Hollander books (by the way, the story appeared on the New York Times‘ website yesterday, while it appeared in print today, rather than the usual other way ’round) and is relatively “less modern” (i.e., not photos, simple charts, etc.), To be honest, the cover art isn’t any great shakes. But we love what we love so there you have it.

Why no pictures of the ’68-70 editions?
Simply a matter of not being instantly accessible.
I loved this book and wore it out! http://www.amazon.com/Major-league-baseball-1968-Zanger/dp/B0007FNJBU/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1377722043&sr=1-1&keywords=major+league+baseball+1968
