The San Diego Union Tribune ran this about Inside the Baseball Hall of Fame. Believe it or not (and I’m guessing my wife will be relieved), I will probably not be getting a copy of this one: there have been numerous volumes about the items in the Hall. In fact, during my recent trip to Cooperstown for the Baseball Symposium held in the HoF, I didn’t even go through the museum, other than passing through the hall of plaques to get to sessions. The exhibits don’t change that much and I just didn’t feel like spending the time. Don’t hate me.
Jewish Baseball News ran this review of Larry Rutman’s American Jews and America’s Game: Voices of a Growing Legacy in Baseball.
Boston.com ran this set of “capsule reviews” from Bill Littlefield, host of NPR’s sports weekly, Only a Game.
Blast from the past: MLB history John Thorn published this review of Christy Matthewson’s Pitching in a Pinch — originally published in 1912 — in The Wall Street Journal in April. The book is available as a free download from Gutenberg.org.
