Lest we forget: Roger Ebert

April 5, 2013

The long-time movie critic succumbed to cancer yesterday at the age of 70.

He was given a “melancholy happy trails” tribute on Pardon the Interruption, in which co-host Tony Kornheiser noted that his show copied liberally from the dynamic Ebert and his co-host, Gene Siskel, employed in their TV show, At The Movies.

As would be expected, Ebert’s paper, the Chicago Sun-Times, gave his passing major treatment.

Baseball Prospectus posted this piece, a compilation of baseball movie reviews including such classics as The Bad News Bears, The Natural, Bull Durham, A League of Their Own, and more. Baseball Nation posted this earlier today, of a similar nature.
