As if Koufax needed the extra recognition

January 16, 2013

(Because this looks like a sticker, and you can put stickers on your bookcase, although I wouldn’t recommend it; they ruin the finish when you try to remove them.)

The Internet Baseball Writers Association of America, of which I am a proud lifetime member, just released its new logo:

Students of the game will recognize the silhouette as that of Sandy Koufax.

The logo was created by Mark Berman, host BloggingMets.com.

When asked about the design, Howard Cole, a resident of Los Angeles who serves as president of the IBWAA, replied in an email, “That’s it. A la Jerry West and the NBA logo. All L.A. all the time.”
