Review roundup: June 8

June 8, 2012

♦ Baseball Prospectus chose an odd assortment for this list of  “10 Favorite Baseball Books”‘ which I suppose could be considered min-reviews.

♦ The Boston Globe published this review of They Call Me Oil Can: Baseball, Drugs, and Life on the Edge, by Oil Can Boyd with Mike Shalin.

As regular readers of the Bookshelf know, I don’t usually consider young adult fiction, but in this case, I’ll make an exception: Rounding Third deals with a teenager’s battle against bullying. The review comes from Examiner.com, which seems to be one of those “Patch”-type on-line community sites.
