Tom Hoffarth’s third installment in his 30 books/30 days series: The Greatest Show on Dirt, a novel by James Bailey.

The Rafu Shimpo, Los Angeles’ Japanese daily newspaper, published this review of Transpacific Field of Dreams: How Baseball Linked the United States and Japan in Peace and War, by Sayuri Guthrie-Shimizu.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch published this review of Wendel’s Summer of ’68, appropriate since the Cardinals were a major force that season, and Araton’s Driving Mr. Yogi, appropriate since Berra was born in St. Louis.

The Dallas Morning News‘ ran Allan Barra’s roundup of R.A. Dickey’s memoir, Charlie Rosen‘s The Emerald Diamond, Daniel R. Levitt’s The Federal League Challengeand its Legacy, and Andy Strasberg‘s Baseball Fantography.
