Did Rico Petrocelli ever do a book? How about his one-time manager Eddie Kasko? Or Gus Zernial, a long ago Philadelphia A’s home run hitter? Or recent stars Jeff Conine and Jim Edmonds? I hope you will find someone to send a literary birthday greeting to on my birthday (coming up very soon)!

As far as I can tell, Petrocelli at least “lent his name” to a 2007 collection of anecdotes titled “Rico Petrocelli’s Tales from the Impossible Dream Red Sox.” The way these things often work is that the publisher tries to assign a recognized to a project in hopes of increasing sales. How much Petro actually had to do with the book is hard to say (Haven’t read this one).

Neither Kasko nor Zernial have books attributed to them.
