Baseball is once again a art of the NPR syllabus.

Steven Goldman and Jay Jafee of Baseball Prospectus made an appearance of The Brian Lehrer Show on April 2.

The same day on Soundcheck, Jonathan Schaefer discussed the connection between baseball and music with Jeff Campbell, whose record label Hungry for Music releases compilations of new and old baseball music, and Steve Wynn and Linda Pitmon, two members of an indie-rock supergroup called The Baseball Project. There was also a segment about the secret musical lives of ballplayers.

Edward Achorn was on Only a Game recently to discuss his new book Fifty-Nine in ’84, the bio of 19th-century pitcher Hoss Radbourn that getting a lot of buzz.

Tim Wendel, author of High Heat: The Secret History of the Fastball and the Improbable Search for the Fastest Pitcher of All Time, was interviewed by Scott Simon on Weekend Edition Saturday on April 3.

And, although, strictly speaking, it’s not NPR, I was once again co-host of the Baseball Blogger Association “Baseball Talk” podcast. (Apologies for the annoying but thankfully brief “commercial” that precedes the program.)
