Mark, I dare you to show yourself enough respect to offer the real story to your fans. I dare you to do what Canseco did to get this whole dog-and-pony show started in the first place and write your own book. Put down the truth. Put down YOUR truth, whatever it might be. Subject yourself to the extended exercise in self-examination that doing a book requires. I guarantee you’ll come out at the other end of the tunnel with a better understanding of yourself.

Thus the gauntlet was thrown down by Steve Kettmann in the Jan. 16 edition of the New York Daily News.

Because Canseco’s book was such a compelling read.
