* Baseball Preview Review: New York Post

April 5, 2009

Although I cant stand this tabloid, I have to give credit where it’s due. Nice job on the preview. Not only is there a supplemental glossy magazine about the new ballparks (which “flips” so you have two covers), but the “Here comes opening day” preview is quite nice as well.

The Post picks the Mets to win the East while the Yankees are slated for third place, behind the Red Sox and Rays; although a chart indicating the division standings from seven of the paper’s writers has mixed results.

Joel Sherman picks the post-season award winners. I’ve seen Johan Santana selected as the NL Cy Young choice in several publications; wonder if the players ever look at these things and either feel pride or pressure? Sherman also offers a column on possible surprises in the year ahead.
