* 100,000 thanks

January 20, 2009

When I first started out with the Bookshelf, I just thought it would be a fun way to kill some time. But it seems to have grown on some of you baseball literati out there.

The Bookshelf may not be the Huffington Post or even Baseball-Reference, but it’s still fun to do. I hope it has served some small purposed and has been a source of entertainment and information (despite all the typos).  On this end, it’s brought me in contact with some very nice and bright people, both authors and readers, for which I am most grateful. And for those of you who have sent me your books that I haven’t gotten around to reading, my apologies and promise that I will as soon as possible.

In the Country of Baseball, The Celebrant, The Dixie Association, and a zillion other references…..all brought to my attention on your site.

Thank you Mr. Kaplan for making the daily effort to share!

Congratulations Ron! Your website is a great reference for lovers of baseball, books and baseball books in particular.

Here’s looking forward to 250.
