* Speaking of self-published

It’s too late to attend the book signing, but not to let to learn about Dave Clark’s memoirs, Diamond in the Rough, published by iUniverse and written with Roger Neumann a reporter for the Corning (NY) Star-Gazette.

Clark, who was afflicted by polio, pitched with the assistance of crutches.

Now suffering from the effects of post-polio syndrome, the 55-year-old Clark began his 30-year baseball career in the early 1970s. He’s now an associate scout for the Baltimore Orioles and does public speaking while living in Florida with his wife, Camilla, and daughter, Elicia.

Despite becoming afflicted with polio at 10 months old, Clark, enjoyed a 17–year professional baseball career as a pitcher and first baseman, playing on crutches. He won 30 games, lost 15 and had 31 saves with an earned run average of 3.31, and batted .254.
