* Calling Inspector Gadget

June 18, 2008

For my recent birthday, my daughter bought me the Baseball ScoreCast from a local Brookstone. It’s kind of cool. A small gray digital device that keeps track of every game in real time (well, perhaps not real real time; there can be a lag time of several minutes, depending on satellite reception.

The ScoreCast also keeps track of standings and schedules, although the latter is a bit difficult to follow. Another issue is that you have to scrolling through each team alphabetically by city. You can’t immediately get the Mets game; you have to go past the Dodgers, Angels, Brewers, Twins, etc. first. There’s also no backlighting, so you can use it as a clock.

Still it’s fun. Thanks, kiddo.
