* 'Voicing' Take Me Out

June 14, 2008

Voice of America, an organization “which first went on
the air in 1942, is a multimedia international broadcasting service
funded by the U.S. government through the Broadcasting Board of
Governors. VOA broadcasts more than 1,000 hours of news, information,
educational, and cultural programming every week to an estimated
worldwide audience of more than 115 million people.”

As such, Rosanne Skirble produced this piece on Baseball’s Greatest Hit: The Story of Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” Might have been nice if she’d taken the time to research that the name of the heroine of the song is usually spelled “Katie,” not “Catie.” But that’s just being my usually pickie self.
