Another example of how everything connects to baseball

March 13, 2008

From the on-line edition of the East Brunswick Home News Tribune:

“Eight Men Out” is a book by Eliot Asinof about the eight members of the Chicago White Sox kicked out of baseball for their role in throwing the 1919 World Series.

This week there are eight men wondering if they will be the next man “out,” following news that New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer was Client No. 9 in an international call girl ring.

Why do I get the feeling that if Mr. Asinof was dead, he’d be spinning in his grave to see the name of his classic book sullied in such an undignified manner?
