After a shaky first quarter, the publishing giant made a nice comeback, posting a 3.3 percent sales increase for the period ending December 31.

HC has published dozens of noteworthy titles, including, just to name a few

  • Clearing the Bases: Juiced Players, Monster Salaries, Sham Records, and a Hall of Famer’s Search for the Soul of Baseball, by Mike Schmidt and Glenn Waggoner (one of many books over the past few years by former stars opining on the state of the game)
  • The Girls of Summer: The Real Story of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, by Lois Browne
  • Robert Kemp’s classic The Physics of Baseball
  • Baseball Anecdotes, by Daniel Okrent and Steve Wulf
  • Baseball and Lesser Sports, by Wilfrid Sheed
  • All My Octobers: My Memories of Twelve World Series When The Yankees Ruled Baseball, by Mickey Mantle with Mickey Hershkowitz
  • I Love This Game, by Kirby Puckett
