Congratulations, Boston

October 29, 2007

While trolling around to read British coverage of the Oct. 28 Giants-Dolphins game played in London, I came across this piece from the Telegraph.

Newseum.org is a great source for how papers across the world handle their cover stories. Once in awhile, they have special “issues.” In honor of the Sox’ series victory, they’ve put together a few pieces, including “
Fall Classic Leads to Series of Front-Page Thrills” and the pioneering days of women in locker room.

I guess some of the Colorado papers came out to early to include coverage of the final game. The Rocky Mountain News features a full-page photo of a new museum opening while the Denver Post mentions that the Patriots and Colts remain unbeaten.

Following the championship in 2004, both the Boston Herald and Globe produced “quicky” books. I wonder if theyll do the same this year, or if that was a “one time only” deal because of the novelty of the situation.
